Car Seat & Interior Repair That Comes to You

The driver's seat takes more abuse than anything else in your car. You slide across the side bolster every time you get in, the sun bakes it through the windshield, and winter heat dries it out. After a few years that shows up as creases, cracks, a rubbed-through edge or a split seam. Most of that can be repaired and re-colored without replacing the seat or even taking it out of the car.

We're Maximus Leather Repair, a mobile leather and vinyl repair team based in Mount Prospect, IL. We've been repairing seats and upholstery for more than 10 years, and we do the work at your home, office or dealership lot.

What we work on

  • Seats: cracked or worn bolsters, split seams, cuts, burns and scuffs, plus flattened cushions that have lost their shape.
  • Leather, vinyl and cloth: genuine leather, synthetic leather, perforated and heated/cooled seat leather, and cloth upholstery.
  • The rest of the cabin: door panels, armrests, center consoles, steering wheels and sagging headliners.
  • Bigger jobs: if a panel is too far gone, we replace the upholstery on that section and match it to the original.

We work on everyday cars like Toyota, Honda and Ford as well as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi and Lexus interiors.

Common car interior problems we fix

  • Cracked or worn bolsters. The outer edge of the driver's seat wears first. We fill the cracks, rebuild worn spots, re-color and seal the area.
  • Split seams. We re-stitch the seam before it pulls apart further, or replace the panel if the material around it is torn.
  • Cuts, burns and scuffs. Repaired and blended into the surrounding grain so they're hard to spot.
  • Sun fading. We re-color faded seats and trim to bring back an even shade.
  • Sagging headliners. Re-attached or replaced so the fabric stops falling on your head.
  • Flat seat cushions. We replace the foam and restore the seat's shape and support.
  • Smells. Smoke, pet and mildew odors are their own job. See our car odor removal page.

How a Car Interior Repair Works

  1. Send us a few photos. Use the form or call and describe the damage. You'll get a free, no-obligation estimate and an honest idea of what can be done.
  2. We come to your car. We look at the damage up close, check the seams, foam and backing, and confirm whether it needs a spot repair, a re-color or a new panel.
  3. Color matching. We custom-mix the colorant on-site to your interior's shade and sheen, so the repaired area doesn't stand out.
  4. The repair. Most seat, armrest and panel repairs are done in the car. Bigger jobs, like replacing upholstery on a whole seat, may take longer or go back to our workshop.
  5. Finish and protection. We seal the repair with a protective topcoat and leave you with simple care tips.

Why Drivers Call Us

  • We come to you. No dropping the car off at a shop. We work in your driveway, parking lot or dealership.
  • Repair before replace. A new seat cover or seat from the dealer costs far more than fixing the damaged area, and a repair keeps the factory look.
  • Colors that actually match. Every color is mixed for your car, not picked from a few stock shades.
  • Straight answers. Free estimates, a clear timeline, and an honest call if something isn't worth fixing.

Where We Work

We're based in Mount Prospect and travel to drivers, dealerships and fleet operators across Chicago and the suburbs, including Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Glenview, Evanston, Naperville, Aurora and Waukegan.

We also serve customers in southeastern Wisconsin, including Kenosha and Milwaukee.

Small cracks turn into tears and a loose seam keeps opening, so it's cheaper to fix damage early. Send us a request or call (224) 833-4909 and we'll find a time that works for you.

FAQ

Car Interiors Repair: Common Questions

Can you fix a torn or cracked driver's seat bolster?

Yes. Bolster wear is one of the most common repairs we do. We rebuild the damaged area, re-dye it to match and seal it so it holds up to daily use.

Do you have to take the seat out of the car?

Usually not. Most seat, armrest and door panel repairs are done with everything in place, at your home, office or dealership.

How long does car seat repair take?

Many seat repairs can be completed in a single visit. Larger interior restorations take longer, and we will give you a clear timeline with your estimate.

How much does car leather seat repair cost?

It depends on the material, the size of the damage and whether it needs a repair or a new panel. Send us a few photos and we'll give you a free, no-obligation estimate. Repairing the damaged area is usually much cheaper than replacing the seat cover.

Do you repair vinyl and cloth seats too?

Yes. We work with genuine leather, synthetic leather, vinyl and cloth upholstery, including perforated leather on heated and cooled seats.

Will the repair match the rest of my interior?

We custom-mix colorants and choose finishes to match your original shade, sheen and grain, so the repair blends in with the surrounding surface.

Can you fix a sagging headliner?

Yes. Depending on its condition, we re-attach the existing headliner or replace the fabric.

Do you work on dealership and fleet vehicles?

Yes. We restore interiors for private owners, dealerships and fleet operators, and can schedule the work at your location.

How do I keep my leather seats from cracking again?

Wipe them with a soft, damp cloth every few weeks, condition the leather regularly, use a sunshade when you park, and get small cracks fixed early before they spread.
